This immersive experience brings the legendary life of England’s most notorious highwayman to vivid life, right in the historic grounds of Hedingham Castle — complete with sword fights, stagecoach robberies, and more.
Thrilling stunt shows and loads of family fun to be had at Hedingham Castle
For the first time ever at the castle, families can enjoy a full day of lively entertainment, including:
- Three live stunt shows each day – with trick riding, dramatic stagecoach hold-ups, sword fighting and pistol duels.
- Birds of prey displays – watch stunning raptors soar above the castle grounds.
- Interactive fun for kids – from a pistol range and Maypole dancing to scavenger hunts, storytelling, and a craft corner.
- Talks and demos – discover what life was really like for highwaymen in the 1700s.
- Craft stalls and food trucks – enjoy tasty treats and pick up some local crafts or souvenirs.
Explore the castle and grounds
Alongside the action, families can explore the castle’s 900-year-old Norman Keep, stroll through its peaceful gardens and bluebell woods, and enjoy the charm of this historic Essex site. Gates open at 10am, with the first show starting at 11am. All activities wrap up by 4pm.

Advance booking is strongly recommended, as only a limited number of tickets will be available on the gate (card payments only). Parking is free, but please note that dogs are not permitted, due to the animals involved in the shows.

- Children (under 17): £16.00
- 1-adult family (1 adult + up to 4 children): £43.00
- 2-adult family (2 adults + up to 3 children): £62.50
- Under 4s and carers: Free
